A Little Update

I have been absent for a while as there really hasn't been much to report. I have to wear my last tray every night to bed as a retainer. There have been no problems doing this and my teeth are still looking nice and straight. I have a follow-up appointment with my orthodontist in July.

I want to apologize to all of those that have asked questions that I haven't been able to get to. Since I am having a hard time keeping up with the YouTube questions, I will be turning the comments off for now. I finally did what I promised a while ago, I came up with a list of Frequently Asked Questions about Invisalign. I will add that as a separate post after this.

As I will be keeping the comments open here, feel free to post your thoughts on your experience with Invisalign. There are a lot of visitors that stop by daily. If you have anything that you want to share with them about your Invisalign, post away!

Best of luck to you all!
Sharon

Hi Sharon, thanks so much for this blog. Your teeth look fantastic. I am almost finished my top aligners now although I have six more months on the bottoms. I have a full account of the trials and tribulations on my website. Part of my decision to get Invisalign was influenced by this blog, so thank you. My teeth are already hugely improved, and I can see that it is going to be an enormous change by the end.

Cool blog! I've noticed a growing trend of Invisalign blogs. It's always nice to get someone's first-hand experience. Thanks!

If your teeth aren't too messed up and invisalign is an option, I highly recommend it. They are so much more unnoticeable than standard metal braces.

I have a cousin who has used invisalign. She loved using invisalign. She loved having braces without people knowing.

Are you still using your last set of trays as your retainer? I'm surprised your dentist didn't sell you an actual retainer.

Anyway, how do you make them last so long? I'm currently waiting for my refinement trays to come in. I've been on a one-week-per-tray schedule (dentist said I could change them every 7 days if I keep it to 22hrs per day, 10 days at 20hrs, or 14 days at 18hrs).

I've been 2 weeks with this last tray on, and another 2 weeks to go, but its already incredibly gunky amd disgusting. I always soak them in polident whenever they're out, but they never really feel clean. Is there any way to get them back to 100% brand-spanking-new clean again?

You may not realize this, but your blog is inspiring and comforting to those of us considering getting invisalign. I have been doing a lot of research and I'm pretty sure it's what I want to do. I had many of these questions when I started, and am still wondering about some of them. I've enjoyed sharing your experience with you.
